One of the most beautiful and diverse regions in the UK, North Cornwall has a dramatic coastline, large sandy bays, busy harbours, picturesque hamlets, ancient towns and wild moorland. The area is steeped in history, and is also home to a wonderful diversity of habitats and natural history. It is no wonder that North Cornwall is one of the most popular areas in the UK to visit. This guide highlights the area’s beauty, reveals some of its hidden secrets, and gives an insight into the past.
Ross Hodinott is one of the UK’s leading landscape and natural history photographers. He is a regular contributor to a number of photography magazines, including Digital SLR Photography and Outdoor Photography. He is the author of six books on photography technique, including the highly successful Digital Exposure Handbook, and his images are published in a wide range of publications throughout the world. In 2009 he was named British Wildlife Photographer of the Year, and he is a multiple award-winner in the International Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Ross has lived in North Cornwall most of his life. He knows the area intimately, and enjoys photographing its landscape and wildlife.
Exploring North Cornwall is published in our Pocket Cornwall series.
